About WHT Cyber
No tickets. No tiers.
Just engineers who answer.
WHT Cyber was built by engineers who've worked the incident response call at 2am — the one where a CEO is asking what just happened to payroll. That perspective shapes every part of how we run security: tooling, response, documentation, and how we talk to clients.
01 / Origin
A consultancy that grew into a SOC.
We started as an IT consultancy serving small and mid-market businesses across the Carolinas. Year after year, the consulting work kept colliding with the same fact: clients didn't need more IT advice — they needed someone watching the network at 3am, someone who would pick up when something looked wrong.
So we built it. We brought in the enterprise tooling, set up the 24/7 monitoring, hired engineers who'd run SOCs at larger shops, and stopped pretending IT and security were separate problems. WHT Cyber is what happened when "we'll figure it out" became a stack and a team.
02 / Today
Built for the call that hasn't come yet.
Our clients range from small dental practices to RIAs managing nine-figure books to manufacturers handling CUI for defense primes. The common thread: they wanted senior engineers on the other end of the line, not a ticket queue.
We run a 24/7 AI-assisted SOC, deploy enterprise EDR and identity tooling at every endpoint, and document everything in a compliance posture the auditor can read. We work with you — not for the contract you signed.
What we believe
Five things, written down because we mean them.
-
01
Security is a posture, not a product.
Tools matter. But the posture is what survives a real attacker — the patching cadence, the identity hygiene, the runbook the on-call engineer can actually execute at 2am. We sell the posture. The tools are how we deliver it.
-
02
No contracts means we earn it every month.
The MSP industry sells 36-month contracts because clients leave when they realize what they're paying for. We don't do that. Month-to-month, cancel any time. The discipline of having to earn the renewal keeps us honest.
-
03
Real engineers, not a call center.
When you reach out, you reach an engineer who can change a firewall rule, read a SIEM event, and explain it to your board the same afternoon. We don't have a Tier 1 buffer. The first person you talk to is the person who can fix it.
-
04
Compliance is engineering, not paperwork.
HIPAA, CMMC, SEC S-P, SOC 2 — none of those frameworks ask for paperwork. They ask for controls that actually work. We deploy the controls. The documentation is the byproduct. Your auditor reads it because it's accurate, not because we paid a writer.
-
05
Tell the client what's actually going on.
Every quarter, every client gets a written posture review: what we saw, what we changed, what's still open. No security theater, no vendor jargon. If we screwed up, we'll say so. If you have an unfixable risk, we'll name it.

Travis Goldstein
Founder & Principal Engineer
Travis founded We Handle Tech in the Charlotte, NC area after years running IT and security engagements for small and mid-market businesses. The pattern was always the same: clients had bought tools they didn't understand, signed contracts they couldn't read, and were one phishing email away from a very bad week.
WHT Cyber is the answer. A small team of senior engineers, an enterprise stack at SMB pricing, no contracts, and a phone number that gets picked up.
If this sounds like the team you want answering the phone —
We'll spend 30 minutes on a call. No pitch deck, no proposal until we understand what you actually have running. Then we'll tell you what's missing.
